Below are two easy to use batch files that will allow you to change your LAN'S IP address with a single click ideal for the mobile engineer, once you have created both batch files save them onto your desktop for easy access.

DHCP for Local Area Connection The below will need to be copied and then pasted into a batch file called dhcp.bat, once created this file will enable your Local LAN network card to obtain an IP address from your connected network so there is no need to navigate through your Network Connections .

Windows XP NTP Time Sync
If you would like to change the default Microsoft time server within Windows XP setup to your preferred NTP server then you could create a registry file as below simply copy and paste the below into a file and call it time.reg and change the third server to your prefered server in this case 192.168.3.254 which is my smoothwall firewall / NTP.

The right hand screen shot is an example simpy double left click your time within the bottom right of your taskbar then Select Internet Time

Static IP address for your Local Area Connection The below will need to be copied and then pasted into a batch file called ip.bat, once created the file will prompt you to enter the new required IP address / Subnet Mask and Default Gateway.
